“Hi my name is Thalia, I am 23 years old and this shirt is fitting me just right! It really took me a long time to get comfortable with my deafness. It was hard not to feel defined by the traditional finger spelled alphabet t-shirts’ or the infamous “I love you” sign. I was often overlooked, hardly considered, and my inability to hear often equated with an inability to speak. When I saw how “No Label” was spreading awareness, it gave me the opportunity in my silent world to say loudly that I was part of a proud culture and we have no need to be defined by a picture or finger spelled messages. We are Deaf and excited that “No Label” gives us a opportunity to not feel or be stigmatized!!”
